Israel Oliveras was born on July 20, 1993 in San Juan, Puerto Rico. He is currently an undergraduate student in Industrial Design at the School of Plastic Arts of Puerto Rico. At the age of 14, he was already working as a freelance graphic designer, illustrating comic strips and designing magazines and books for children. Several years later, he worked for América TeVé (Channel 41), an independent television station, as a graphic designer.
As he started to indulge his passion for the arts, he discovered the increasing amount of talented digital caricaturists and concept artists, and as a way of inspiration, it led him to explore his sketches from the traditional media in the digital platform. He started offering his personalised digital caricature services since 2013 under the name “Caricaturas Online por Israel Oliveras”. He has created caricatures for international customers from Brazil, Costa Rica, United States, Spain, and Rumania. The work he created for this latter country was published on the cover of a 2013 edition of “Atitudini”, a magazine from the I.L. Caragiale House of Culture in Ploiesti, Rumania. His work is inspired by famous personalities, music, history, mythology, and other areas of study.
