So often times I have hard time coming up with subject matter to practice with, and after watching one of Xia Taptara's videos on youtube, I realized that it's okay to use reference photos to just copy and practice your skills. I searched Google for Katniss photos and liked this one, so I copied a quick sketch of it on paper (about 2" x 3"), photographed it, brought it into Photoshop, did a little linework correction, and went to work with a Chalk Brush. I like the more painterly look
